2016 What The Fronti
Sourced from multiple sites across the Barossa Valley, this white blend is all about the aromatics and texture, more than the varieties that make up this blend.
A number of parcels make up this white blend, utilising multiple winemaking techniques in the winery to make a more complex wine. The majority of this wine was made traditionally, excluding oxygen from the process to make a bright, aromatic style of wine. A smaller portion, however, was made like a red wine- fermented on skins to create some texture, aged in new Hungarian Oak, and allowed to go through natural Malolactic fermentation.
This white blend was designed to be consumed without too much thought going into what varieties make up the wine. It is bright and aromatic in the glass, with tons of florals and tropical fruits. The palate is fresh and juicy, but it finishes with some texture and creaminess. Sit back and enjoy the multiple layers in this wine- it is great with food, but it can certainly be enjoyed on its own.
