GRAPEGROWER & WINEMAKER
All of the fruit for this wine is grown here on our vineyards around our cellar door, using organic practices in the vineyard to grow the best fruit we can. The Shiraz (41%) comes from our oldest plantings on the property, dating back to 1994, while the Grenache (39%) and Mataro (20%) were both planted on our property in 2001.
All of our red wines are fermented with wild yeast in small open fermenters. This blend was put together after each of the components was fermented separately, some of which were fermented in old concrete fermenters, while the others were in stainless steel. Each parcel of fruit varied with the amount of time on skins, ranging from 7-18 days before they were basket pressed to tank. A portion of this wine was aged in old oak for 12 month, while the remainder stayed in stainless steel tank to retain freshness.
This Shiraz, Grenache and Mataro blend showcases the three best suited varieties to this region in my opinion. It has great depth of colour, dark fruited characters on the nose, and is super smooth and juicy on the palate. An easy-drinking red for any (or no) occasion. Great pizza wine, or perfect for a BBQ with mates.

Drink it now, but if you like more secondary characters, it will age gracefully up to 2024.
