HUBERT IRVING PFEIFFER
1914 – 1984

Born 17 August 1914 in Renmark, Riverland, South Australia.
Fondly known as Peter to those who new him.

28 year old Hubert left the Riverland for Wallgrove, NSW to enlist on the 6th of August 1942 in the Australian Army Corps.
Hubert served his time as a Bombardier until 5th of November 1945 when he was discharged.
He is recognised and honoured as one of Australia’s ANZAC’s.

Hubert Irving Pfeiffer, grandfather to Matt and Josh, soon followed in his father’s footsteps moving his family to a vineyard in Loxton. Hubert enjoyed wandering through the vines with his son Martin talking to, and training both the vines and his young pupil, just as his father before him.

Today Martin is showing his son Josh the art of grape growing, handing down the knowledge from the previous generations to ensure that the skills learned are not lost.
