The colour of this wine is at the darker end of the spectrum for Rosé. Aromas of redskins, toffee apple and strawberries & cream leap out of the glass. The palate has a berry-like prettiness attributed to the Grenache and a savoury/earthy edge thanks to the Mataro. Bright and bubbly on the finish and will pair perfectly with spicy food and sunshine!
Ready to drink now.
A blend of 5 different grape varieties with the majority being Grenache and Mataro from our Heysen Estate Vineyards.
This wine is made up of the pressings created during the making of our Dry As A Bone Rosé and put to old French oak to go through partial primary (alcoholic) fermentation using only the natural yeast. After a small blending process with some of our ‘Back To Basics’ Skin Contact white, the wine was hand bottled with about 14g/l of residual sugar. The wine spent the winter and spring ticking through the remaining sugars which creates the natural carbonation in bottle.
Limited to 647 hand labeled bottles, this experimental product is sure to become part of our core range simply because it’s delicious!
Alcohol: 12.5% Residual sugar: Mostly Dry, but expect bottle variation, because that’s what Pet Nat’s about!
